Job Description

As Darkstore grows, We are looking for an experienced Director of Sales. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in managing highly-effective sales teams, developing and guiding sales strategy, planning and day-to-day execution toward goals. They’ll do this both an active sales team member and leader. Areas of expected proficiency include Needs Identification, Relevant Solution Design, Negotiation, Market Development, Brand Engagement, Program Management, Sales Training Development, Employee Mentoring, Contracts Management and Utilization of Sales Program Analytics. They should be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute a sales plan to consistently deliver on revenue targets…and with the utmost expectation for honesty and integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a yin/yang balance of sales and technical background which enables the ability to drive engagement at the CXO level as well as with technology, marketing, supply chain, and other key roles with our brand partners. This Director of Sales will be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced and dynamic environments, with strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simply listen and with the agility to react and respond in real time. They should also be able to simply have fun and to celebrate each other in our success as a Darkstore Team. When we win, we pause to appreciate those moments. Responsibilities

• Translate Darkstore’s Vision into compelling Sales Team Strategies and Goals. • Oversee hiring, training, management, and Sales employee development. • Inspire employees and drive a genuine culture of integrity, ownership and potential. • Build collaborative and high quality relationships with Brand Partners. • Own responsibility for Revenue, Profitability and Customer Satisfaction. • Obsess over qualitative measurement of data to guide decisions. - Constantly monitor Sales KPIs to ensure efficient goal achievement - Utilize common sense effectively when “gut-calls” are necessary. - Scrutinize D2C Market Categories and Brand Targets for the Sales focus. - Construct detailed strategies for outbound development of new business. - Have the courage to say “no” for the freedom to say “yes”. - Actively participate in and guide all day-to-day sales functions. - Model and Train the Sales Team as a positive role-model and mentor. - Motivate Individuals and Team to exceed objectives through sales programs. - Constantly evaluate the product roadmap to anticipate brand requirements. - Partner with cross-functional Teams to execute on specific Brand needs. - Collaborate with Brand Partners on comprehensive marketing plans. - Scale sales process efficiency and leverage AI to optimize target market fit. - Work with Sales Operations to deliver sales policy and compensation plans. - Author the playbook for Darkstore to expand and scale into new categories. - Assist in the development of Darkstore’s strategy for international expansion.


Requirements

• 7-10 years of sales leadership and development experience. • Proven ability to succeed and lead mutually-beneficial business. - Experience managing highly effective inside and outbound sales teams. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into decisions. - Proficiency in designing and implementing sales policy and comp plans. - Track record of developing account-based Marketing programs. - Legacy of crafting and executing successful sales programs. - An executive mindset, capable of working with all levels of leadership. - Deep commitment to integrity and courage to surface problems immediately. - Successful track record in high volume transaction sales environments. - Discipline, structure and an organized approach to priorities for your Team. - Excellent presentation, listening, motivational and negotiating skills. - Empathy and the ability to relate Human needs to solutions that meet them. - A passion for balancing the fine line between “Details” and “Simplicity” - Ability to thrive in a very fast paced, startup environment - Success in identifying, hiring and training great business people. - BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required
