Sales Development Representative

We’re building the first global medical tourism marketplace that focuses on trust & quality. For every prospective hospital we work with, we ask ourselves: would we send our own parents here? Our clients can see their options all over the world, with transparent pricing, ratings, testimonials, HD photographs, and a dedicated account executive from our U.S. team to answer questions and guide them through the process. Once clients give us a downpayment, their Emissary account exec is available any time via phone or email. On their trip, our mobile app keeps them connected to us, our partners, and their loved ones 24/7, and our English-fluent partners at the destination hospital make sure everything goes smoothly while they’re there. Why we do it: In 2013, my friend's mom needed serious arthritis surgery. Even though her family had insurance, she still couldn't afford it in the US. Her family in India helped her find a doctor she could trust near them, and despite the travel and hotel (her whole family went with her!) she still saved $20,000. There were no options online she could trust to help her do her research, so if it weren't for a family connection, who knows what she would've done. Medical and dental care are broken in the U.S. We're aiming to offer an alternative using web & mobile tech, plus data transparency, to help people alternatives they can trust, during such a difficult time of their lives.

Job Description is a New York based startup radically rethinking the way sales teams operate. We're seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial candidate to become a key contributor as we grow our business.


As an SDR at Emissary, your primary responsibilities will be getting and setting up meetings+demos with prospective clients through direct emails and cold calls. Your success in achieving these goals will directly impact the overall success of the business by expanding Emissary’s market share.

  • As a highly-effective communicator, an SDR gains access to senior-level executives across a wide range of industries. Candidates should have a exceptional interpersonal skills, high social IQ, and a strong ability to understand unique business needs and creatively address them.
  • As a learner, this SDR will approach problems with a beginner’s mindset and an intense desire to improve. They will come with a demonstrated ability to grow and develop.
  • As a competitor, this SDR will be willing to put in hard work to achieve clear goals. They will be highly organized and able to break down big goals into smaller pieces to tackle right away. This candidate should not be afraid of hustling to get the job done right.


Emissary is seeking recent college graduates who are self-motivated, socially active, highly intelligent, competitive and great communicators. The candidate can be from any major but must have graduated in good standing, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the personal maturity to meet commitments.

More concretely, possessing excellent time management skills is a must, as well as a high social IQ. Experience with CRM systems, Google Docs, and Sales Technology is a benefit but not required.
