Job Description

Oscar is a new kind of health insurance company that is using technology, data, and design to deliver a better healthcare experience. We’ve brought together leaders from top technology and healthcare companies to create a talented team that is passionate about helping people navigate the complex and confusing healthcare industry. We are looking for part-time help across sales, account management, marketing and community management. We value hunger and smarts over experience and can offer tremendous flexibility and competitive pay. Top performers will be offered full-time positions as the company grows.


Responsibilities

Quickly you will learn about the healthcare industry and how it is changing. You will understand the Oscar product and value proposition and learn how to communicate that effectively to numerous stakeholders. Upon completion you should be able to identify, design, and manage the construction of key channels and relationships that help Oscar generate lives and improve our core product.

In your first six week you will learn: - How to help people get Affordable Healthcare. - Our space, our competitors, and our product. - Our expansion plan. - How we find, construct, close, and manage our key business deals. - Our systems and key processes. - The story of our company. - The key functions and resources you will need to get things done. - About our people, one of our greatest assets. - How to set a tone of high energy and spirit within the Business Development Team to make the impossible possible.

Afterwards and on an ongoing basis you will: - Help us expand our national footprint. - Structure and improve a playbook for future expansion. - Identify opportunities locally and in new markets to help introduce and scale Oscar’s ability to acquire new customers. - Provide thoughts and feedback on how our system of growth is evolving and operate as a thought partner to our Head of Business Development. - Build and manage frameworks that focus on the return on investment of our various partnerships and programs. - Reduce our “deal making” to a manufacturing process that you are constantly looking to improve and optimize.


Requirements

We are looking for someone who can see opportunity and seize it. Excellent candidates will be able to see what doesn’t exist, construct opportunities that help Oscar gain customers, and constantly reflect on how to improve those pathways and scale them.

Must-have qualifications and expertise include: - University degree from a top school. - Previous experience with deals through business development, venture, private equity, or partnerships of similar complexity. - Live or be willing to relocate so you can work at our offices in New York City.

In this role, you have to to build and manage the “Business Development” function in our fast-moving environment. You will be successful if: - You like to imagine and track down strategic relationships. - You have an eye toward customer and revenue generation. - You’re good with people and structuring win-win agreements. - You’re a man or woman of your word. - You’re direct and honest. - You love building or growing businesses. - You can handle complex process management with a virtually zero error rate.
