The Grommet is a community that’s reshaping the way people discover, share, influence, and buy products online. We bring together shoppers and the Makers, inventors, and entrepreneurs behind today’s most innovative products. Every weekday we reveal new products from those creators and give you the full story behind them. Whenever you come to our site, you’ll discover something new. Led by Co-founder & CEO Jules Pieri, The Grommet’s mission is rooted in Citizen Commerce, where each of us exercises economic clout by supporting businesses whose values reflect our own—like sustainability, underrepresented entrepreneurs, or products Made in The USA. We’ve grown to a community of 2.7 million. Since 2008, The Grommet has launched more than 2,000 products (or "Grommets") in 16 categories. Only 3% of the products reviewed by our Discovery Team are selected for launch. Many of the products we’ve launched have gone on to great success. Some have even become household names, like Bananagrams, Bondic, Cuppow, FitBit, GoldieBlox, IdeaPaint, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, OtterBox, Plumen, PocketMonkey, SodaStream, Sugru, and Yogibo, among others. In 2014, at the first-ever White House Maker Faire, The Grommet Wholesale was launched to help Makers distribute their products directly to Main Street Retailers and national chains. As of May 2016, more than 800 products are available to 7,000 retailers.
